Dave Montgomery
Dave Montgomery began his legal career working as an assistant district attorney at the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office between 1993 and 1995, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases. Between 1995 and 2012, Dave worked at the Lane County District Attorney’s Office. During this time, he prosecuted a wide variety of misdemeanor and later felony cases.
In 2012, Dave continued his legal career with the Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ), working as a Senior Assistant Attorney General in the Child Advocacy Section, representing the Department of Human Services (DHS) in child dependency cases. His practice with DOJ involved every aspect of DHS representation in cases alleging child abuse and/or neglect. Dave handled cases in Lane, Douglas, Coos, Curry, Josephine, Jackson, and Deschutes Counties over the course of his career with DOJ. He retired from DOJ in 2024.
